The Rundown is a gameplay feature of GTFO.
In-game:[edit | edit source]
In GTFO, the Rundown is a series of missions available to the player over a set period of time.
Each Rundown will have a number of missions over five tiers, each getting progressively harder the higher the number. For example, a mission on the first tier would be much easier compared to a mission on the third tier, and so on.
|“||The Rundown is divided into different tiers where expeditions in the lower part of the screen take place deeper within the Complex. The deeper you go, the harder the expeditions get.||„|
|~ Simon Viklund|
Each tier of hardness is given a letter, or the A, B, C, D, and E tiers, which correspond to a selected difficulty of the mission, going from the easiest tier being "A", and the hardest tier being "E".
Simultaneously, each Rundown will have a different time limit, for example, one might last two months, and have several missions, or another Rundown might be quicker and replaced within a couple of weeks.
Each rundown has a timer, which when counts down to zero, will then trigger the next rundown being available. For Rundown #001, there is not a timer, and instead has "Pending Analysis" on it, meaning that the developers have not publicly chosen a date for the next rundown.
Canonical Explanation[edit | edit source]
The Warden, an entity that forces prisoners to go on missions gives these rundowns, or work orders to complete.
|“||When you first launch GTFO, you're presented with "The Rundown." This is the work order that The Warden has tasked you - its prisoners - with.||„|
|~ Simon Viklund|
Each rundown is a work order from The Warden for the prisoners to complete. For example, mission A1 might be to get identification cards from the complex, and mission B1 might be to restart a generator using those identification cards.
